GRAETER'S AND NEW RIFF DISTILLING COLLABORATE ON NEW BOURBON ICE CREAM

A sweet new collaboration between two Greater Cincinnati flavor favorites is hitting shelves this weekend. Graeter’s Ice Cream and New Riff Distilling in Newport have partnered for the first time ever on the new Bourbon Ball Ice Cream flavor, which is available to order online now at graeters.com and will be available in New Riff’s gift shop starting Saturday, April 12, and in all Graeter’s scoop shops on Monday, April 14.

Inspired by the Kentucky confection, Bourbon Ball Ice Cream is described as indulgent, featuring a rich, bourbon-infused ice cream with whiskey-glazed pecans and dark chocolate chips. The ice cream was crafted from a hand-selected single barrel of New Riff’s award-winning bourbon and will replace Graeter’s current Brown Butter Bourbon Pecan. Graeter’s calls the change an evolution of the beloved flavor that brings the recipe into the next generation.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with New Riff Distilling to create a flavor that celebrates two iconic treats: Kentucky Bourbon and ice cream,” Richard Graeter, the fourth-generation president and CEO of Graeter’s, said in a press release. “Working with the team at New Riff to taste and select a special Single Barrel, our team has created the perfect fusion of our hand-crafted process and New Riff’s exceptional distilling, delivering a unique experience that honors the rich flavors of Kentucky.”

Graeter’s adds New Riff’s time-honored bourbon-making techniques make them a natural partner for this collaboration to create a bold and balanced dessert that appeals to both bourbon and ice cream lovers.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with another local, family-owned business that shares our passion for craft and quality,” said Mollie Lewis, president of New Riff. “Graeter’s has been an incredible partner — not only do they make amazing ice cream, but the way they incorporated our Single Barrel Bourbon into this recipe blew us away. It’s the perfect blend of two great traditions, and we can’t wait for everyone to get a taste.”

In addition to being available through New Riff and Graeter’s, Bourbon Ball Ice Cream will also be available at Meijer, Jungle Jim’s and Dorothy Lane Market stores. You can also visit New Riff (24 Distillery Way, Newport) on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to try free samples.
