Bars and breweries across Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky are breaking out the tinsel and holly for some festive fun. Whether you’re in the mood to have a drink or two underneath a mistletoe, try a Yuletide-themed cocktail or check out some holiday events and activities — or maybe you’re just trying to get away from your family to have a drink in peace — these 23 Greater Cincinnati drinking establishments have the vibes to get you in the holiday spirit.

Red Leprechaun 

Irish pub Red Leprechaun is ringing in the holiday season with a new Christmas pop-up experience. The Holiday Hideaway is a full-venue, floor-to-ceiling Christmas takeover, featuring ceiling-hung gift boxes, oversized vintage bulbs, four fully decorated Christmas trees, garland-wrapped beams and thousands of twinkling lights. The team calls it one of the most immersive Christmas experiences in the city, unlike anything else at The Banks. Along with the decor, The Holiday Hideaway will also host weekend events, including Christmas Movie Nights and toy drives. 20 W. Freedom Way, The Banks.

Cobblestone OTR

In search of a cozy spot to host a festive get-together with friends or family before the end of the holiday season? You’re in luck: Cobblestone OTR has transformed its space into the charming and whimsical Nutcracker-inspired Winter Wonderland at Cobblestone Holiday Pop-Up. Nearly every inch of Cobblestone has been decorated for the holidays. The bar will also be serving festive specialty cocktails, including the Dark Chocolate Espresso Martini, made with vodka, espresso, dark chocolate liqueur and candy cane; and the Cranberry Sage Gin Fizz, made with gin, cranberry, lemon, triple sec and rosemary. There are also themed shots available, including the Rumple Hopper, made with chocolate Bailey’s and Rumple Minz; and Gingerbread, made with Fireball, buttershots and Bailey’s Cinnamon Churros. Galaxie

This holiday season, bar and dance spot Galaxie is hosting Miracle on Madison, an immersive Christmas-themed pop-up bar with original cocktails, over-the-top decorations, holiday-themed food, Christmas movies, karaoke and a merchandise lineup. The cocktail selection includes favorites like the Snowball Old Fashioned, Christmapolitan and the Jingle Bells Nog. There are also non-alcoholic options like Snow Day Sipper, crafted with chocolate hazelnut and coconut syrup, coconut whipped cream and cacao dust and served hot. To eat, try the roast turkey, Swiss cheese and cranberry sliders; poutine; loaded fries and “Roast Beast” Wakatakas (flatbread tacos that Galaxie is famous for). The Pitch

Merry “Pitchmas,” Cincinnati! Sports bar The Pitch is hosting holiday pop-up Pitchmas, featuring festive installations like the Icy Snow Storm, Candy Cane Lane, a regal Christmas Throne and a Whimsical Candyland. The pop-up also offers 10 themed cocktails, including a Mulled Wine Spritzer.  1430 Central Parkway, Over-the-Rhine.

Arnold’s Bar and Grill

The cozy Christmas and winter decorations at Cincinnati’s oldest, continuously operating bar will make you feel merry and bright as you catch up with friends and family this holiday season. This year, Arnold’s is hosting the St. Nick’s Speakeasy pop-up, turning its bar and booth room with twinkling lights, over-the-top Christmas decor, festive staff and a menu of holiday cocktail specials and winter warmers — the perfect place for Santa to unwind after a day of hard work at the North Pole.  210 E. Covington Yard

Food container park Covington Yard has turned into its Winter WonderYard for another season. Winter WonderYard aims to capture the nostalgia of Christmas, with sparkling Christmas lights, festive décor and holiday cheer. Guests will be able to enjoy heated and covered seating, as well as a special menu of themed holiday cocktails, like the food park’s warming signature Hot Chocolate Flights, and food from El Jefe’s, Mad Anthony Pizza and Empanadas. 401 Greenup St., Covington.

Vista at Lytle Park

As the Lytle Park Hotel changes into its holiday best, with twinkling lights and elevated seasonal decor, its rooftop bar, Vista at Lytle Park, has rolled out its holiday decorations and Alpenglobes, where you can enjoy drinks, bites and stunning views of downtown from the comfort of these heated igloos that seat up to eight. The Alpenglobes come with a dedicated server, plus access to the full menu. There are food and beverage minimums — $300 on weekdays and $500 during the weekend. 311 Pike St., Downtown.

13 Below Brewery is hosting several holiday-themed activities throughout the month, including a cookie-decorating event on Dec. 15 and the Frisch Marionettes Christmas Show on Dec. 20. 7391 Forbes Road, Sayler Park.

Bring the whole family to Oakley Greens for the holiday festivities. Enjoy a round of mini golf, catch holiday movies on Mondays and shop the Fa La La Finds holiday market on Dec. 14. Cinema OTR

Bar and lounge Cinema OTR has broken out all the Christmas decorations for its holiday-themed pop-up Jingle & Juice. Every square inch of the bar serves as the perfect backdrop for a festive Instagram selfie, and you can also enjoy themed cocktails and DJs. 1517 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine.

AC Upper Deck

Get a birds-eye view of The Banks from the igloos at the AC Upper Deck this holiday season. The igloos’ colorful lights will make you feel like you’re inside a Christmas tree bulb as you eat, drink and be merry. 135 Joe Nuxhall Way, The Banks.

Tiki Tiki Bang Bang

If you combine retro-kitsch holiday decor and the image of a beach-bum Santa Claus, you’ll get the Sippin’ Santa pop-up at Walnut Hills tiki bar Tiki Tiki Bang Bang. Along with the tropical Christmas vibes, you can also sip on holiday-themed drinks like Jingle Bird (bourbon, pineapple rum, Campari, lime, pineapple and jingle mix), the Sugar Plum Mai Tai (Haitian and Nicaraguan rums, lime, orgeat, cinnamon syrups and plum mix) or the mysterious Secret Santa (ask the bartender). 965 E. Moerlein Lager House

Experience The Banks at wintertime from the comfort of one of Moerlein Lager House’s heated igloos before shopping the Servatii Christkindlmarkt set up on the lawn. Each igloo can fit up to 14 people and features three high-top cocktail tables, an electric fireplace and a personal igloo concierge who will keep the drinks flowing. Your reservation is good for up to 90 minutes, and while the rental fee is $300, that will be returned to you in the form of vouchers to be used at Moerlein Lager House or the food and beverage stalls at the Christkindlmarkt. 115 Joe Nuxhall Way, The Banks.

Fifty West is again transforming into a winter wonderland with its ice skating rink, fire pits and large heated tents. They’ve also got hot beverages (boozy and otherwise) to help chase away any winter blues, as well as a winter curling league to help keep you active during the colder months. The Overlook Lodge

The immersive Miracle pop-up Christmas bar is back for another year at The Overlook Lodge. You’ll need to buy a ticket to experience the pop-up, which gets you 70 minutes in the bar and includes a welcome shot and two festive-themed cocktails, classic holiday shows and over-the-top decor. New this year is a projection show from Brave Berlin and themed drinks like Miracle Mouse (bourbon, French sweet vermouth, pamplemousse liqueur, vanilla liqueur, strawberry, grapefruit and orange acid) and the “Cheery Cherry Chocosaurus” (brandy, Italian sweet vermouth, dark crème de cacao, blackberry liqueur, tart cherry and chocolate, lemon, chocolate bitters and brandied cherries). 6083 Montgomery RoadPleasant Ridge.

The Graduate by Hilton

If you’re taking the kids to see the Cincinnati Zoo’s Festival of Lights, you can also stop by The Graduate by Hilton’s family-friendly holiday pop-up, Tinselhaus. The hotel transformed one of its rooms into an immersive, Instagammable holiday oasis, complete with seasonal cocktails, mocktails and bites. 151 Goodman St., Corryville.

MadTree Brewing

In addition to the taproom being decked out for the holidays, MadTree also has a heated winter tent up for the season. This rock and roll bar and gastropub gets a bit of a naughty holiday makeover as the mermaid mascot dons a pair of sparkling red pasties and a Santa-beard merkin. Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza

Cozy meets Art Deco grandeur at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza this holiday season. The gilded hotel and its restaurant, The 1931, are warmly decorated to welcome guests in from the cold. The 1931 is also once again hosting its Dickens Brunch on Dec. 14 and 21 (there are still spots open for the 21st), with a lavish buffet of seasonal and English-inspired offerings. The hotel will also host its Christmas brunch on Christmas Day. 35 W. Fifth St., Downtown.

West Side Brewing has its Christmas decorations up and holiday-themed beers on tap, including the Holiday Ale. The brewery will host a visit from Santa Paws on Dec. 15 for all the good pups, followed by National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation-themed trivia on Dec. 18. 3044 Harrison Ave., Westwood.

Shires Rooftop

The rooftop deck at Shires has brought back its igloos and special garden greenhouses for the winter, and it’s also decked out in colorful holiday lights to help you live out your Hallmark movie fantasies. Urban Artifact is celebrating the season with its holiday-themed brews, including the Sugar Plum American fruit tart and chocolate-raspberry Sliderule.
