HOLIDAY MEALS THAT MIGHT COST MORE THAN YOUR MORTGAGE

Why buy a house when you could spend the same amount on a holiday meal? That’s right - some of the world’s wealthiest food lovers are indulging in holiday dinners that can set you back six figures. From gold-leaf-covered desserts to $22,000 cocktails, here are the priciest and most outrageous holiday feasts you’ll ever come across.

THE GOLDEN OPULENCE SUNDAE ($1000)
At Serendipity 3 in New York City, you can indulge in the Golden Opulence Sundae: a $1,000 ice cream creation. This dessert is made with Tahitian vanilla beans, gold leaf, rare chocolates, and caviar, served in a crystal goblet with a gold spoon. The sundae’s presentation is just as lavish as its ingredients, making it a favorite for those who enjoy a bit of sparkle with their sweets.

CAVIAR TOPPED BAKED POTATO ($540)
Sometimes luxury comes in unexpected forms. At Caviar Kaspia in New York and London, a seemingly simple baked potato is transformed into an elite dish when topped with Oscietra caviar, one of the most prestigious types of caviar available. This $540 potato is a decadent twist on a classic comfort food.

FORTRESS STILT FISHERMAN INDULGENCE ($14,500)
While technically a dessert, this dish from Sri Lanka is often served during Christmas at Fortress Resort and Spa. It’s a cassata (an Italian sponge cake) layered with gold leaf and served with a handmade chocolate stilt fisherman. The most extravagant part? An 80-carat aquamarine gem is part of the presentation.

SUBLIMOTION CHRISTMAS DINNER ($2,000)
For the ultimate multi-sensory dining experience, the Sublimotion Christmas dinner in Ibiza is more of a performance than a meal. It offers futuristic decor, visual displays, and a menu that includes avant-garde holiday dishes with molecular gastronomy techniques, like liquid nitrogen-infused desserts and air-like appetizers.

BÛCHE DE NOËL BY PIERRE HERMÉ ($200 - $500)

The Bûche de Noël, or Yule log cake, is a Christmas classic, but Parisian pastry chef Pierre Hermé takes it to new heights. Hermé creates a new version each year, using ingredients such as a rare Madagascan vanilla, Valrhona chocolate, and gold leaf, making these logs a luxurious and refined take on this French holiday dessert.

KOBE BEEF CHRISTMAS ROAST ($1,500)
In Japan, high-end restaurants offer Kobe beef roasts as a holiday delicacy, taking the idea of a traditional Christmas roast to an extreme. Kobe beef, renowned for its marbling and flavor, is considered one of the finest meats globally. The roast is often accompanied by seasonal vegetables and premium sauces.

For Thanksgiving enthusiasts, the most extravagant dinner on record comes from New York City’s Old Homestead Steakhouse. This one-of-a-kind feast costs a staggering $181,000. The meal includes free-range turkey seasoned with saffron, Wagyu beef stuffing, and gravy made from a bottle of Louis XIII Cognac. Side dishes include sweet potatoes topped with imported black truffles and butternut squash made with rare winter truffles.

The meal was paired with a $60,000 bottle of Piper-Heidsieck Champagne. Dessert included Kopi Luwak coffee and Densuke watermelon. Proceeds from the event were donated to charity, making this luxurious dinner not just a feast, but a philanthropic endeavor.

This lavish cocktail from the Encore Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas is a decadent mix of 1981 Charles Heidsieck Champagne, Louis XIII Black Pearl Cognac, fresh orange juice, rose nectar, and apricot juice. It’s served in a jewel-encrusted glass and comes with an 18-carat gold necklace as a souvenir. The rare and luxurious ingredients, paired with the sparkling gift, make this drink an indulgent holiday treat.

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER MARTINI ($22,600)
Available at the Ritz-Carlton in Tokyo, this martini is the world's most expensive cocktail, made with Absolut Elyx vodka and a twist of lime. What sets this drink apart is its garnish: a one-carat diamond resting at the bottom of the glass.
