Existing-home sales edged up in April, while inventory continued to improve, according to the National Association of REALTORS® Existing-Home Sales Report. The latest data points to a market where buyers have a little more room to compare options, even as home prices continue to rise year over year. For April 2026, existing-home sales reached a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.02 million, the median sales price was $417,700, and inventory stood at a 4.4-month supply. Prices increased 0.9% year-over-year, while inventory rose 0.1 months compared to April 2025. National Snapshot
